Area Report:

The Wolf River State Trail segment in Langlade County is currently under the ownership, management, and operation of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The trail will continue to be open to a range of motorized and nonmotorized trail uses, as established through a Master Plan approved in August 2006, and consistent with trail uses in previous years. 

As of 4 pm on Friday, May 22, 2026, the Wolf River State Trail in Langlade County will be seasonally open to ATV/UTVs in the northern (Lily to the Forest County Line) and southern segments (Walrich Road to County Highway P.

The middle segment from Lily to White Lake (Walrich Road) remains closed to motorized use. Individuals with disabilities may apply for a Power-Driven Mobility Device Permit for motorized access to this portion.

The remaining Langlade County ATV/UTV Trail system opened May 1, 2026. The trail segment from intersection 44 to the Wolf River State Trail will remain closed. All County Highway routes and many Town roads in Langlade County are open year-round to ATV/UTV traffic.
