All Washburn County ATV trails will officially open Saturday morning May 25. This marks the end of our spring closure as county ordinances set Saturday morning of Memorial Weekend as the trail opener.
Trail conditions are wet/wet/wet. Significant recent rain events have resulted in unusually soft trail conditions. Please tread lightly and PLEASE stay on the designated trail surface.
Also be aware that not all trails have been graded for the start of the season and riders may encounter portions of rough trails. Riders may also encounter minor trail washouts; Please ride with caution.
The Wild River Trail and the Railroad Grade to Shell Lake are open unless DNR Fire Danger is rated at Very High or Higher. Please refer to the below link for current fire danger status.

Please note that motorcycles and dirt bikes are NOT permitted on our trails.
Land use agreements with private landowners for snowmobile trails do not permit the use of ATV’s at any time of the year.
