Trail Report: Spooner / Washburn County Wisconsin – May 6, 2019

Trail Conditions: Early Season

Date of Report: May 6, 2019

Area Report:

Washburn County ATV trails were closed for the spring closure as of Wednesday, March 20th. The only exceptions to this spring closure are the Wild River Trail and the Railroad Grade to Shell Lake, which remain open unless DNR Fire Danger is rated at Very High or Higher. Please refer to the below link for current fire danger status.

Normal spring trail closure runs through the first Friday before Memorial Weekend. ATV trails will re-open Saturday morning of Memorial Weekend.  In units of the Forest open for motorized uses, ATVs/UTVs are also prohibited now through the first Friday before Memorial Weekend.

Please note that motorcycles and dirt bikes are NOT permitted on our trails. 

Land use agreements with private landowners for snowmobile trails do not permit the use of ATV’s at any time of the year.

Trail Conditions: Closed

Date of Report: May 1, 2019

Area Report:

The Langlade County ATV/UTV trail system will remain closed due to the annual spring thaw. The trails will remain closed until conditions improve and are inspected by Forestry Department staff along with the Langlade County ATV clubs. Trail Report: Antigo | Langlade County, Wisconsin – April 30, 2019

Trail Conditions: Closed

Date of Report: April 30, 2019

Area Report:

The Spring/Summer/Fall ATV trails in Langlade County officially closed on Friday, November 30, 2018.  The trails will remain closed until weather permits after May 1, 2019.  This includes the Parrish Highlands, Augustyn Springs, Pickerel/Pearson, Antigo, and White Lake/Elton ATV trail systems.  In addition, all County highway road routes will be closed at this time as well.

The Langlade County All-Terrain Vehicle Trails Ordinance prohibits ATV’s from operating on the above-described trails after December 1.   For further questions regarding the trails, you may call the Forestry and Recreation Department at 715-627-6300.

Trail Report: Hayward, Wisconsin – April 22, 2019

Trail Conditions: Good

Date of Report: April 22, 2019

Area Report:

While most of our ATV trails are closed during the spring thaw, the Tuscobia Trail is ALWAYS OPEN, and well as any ATV road routes and routes through the reservation areas.  Now is a good time to explore Sawyer County!
