Here is a little ATV/UTV trail info ahead of the season. All trails in the Chequamegon National Forest (light green area on Sawyer County map) are closed 3/15 to 5/1. The county owned trails and county forest trails (forest is dark green will close 4/1 until approximately 5/15, however depending on the ground condition they will open earlier (usually 5/1), based on the lack of frost you can expect an early opening, we will update as spring moves forward and we get officially word from the forestry.
The Tuscobia (trail 10) is open and is a great ride! The trail runs east to west across the whole county. The 9 Mile Loop (trail 11) off the Tuscobia is county forest however, they do keep that open. Main trail 777, portions of K and E, legally trail marked and trails along Gurno Rd, Rainbow, Highland, Williams, Indian Lake Rd to name a few on and near LCO are also open.
